Description

The handwriting recognition technology integrated in a Script&Go application poorly understands user marks and certain words are not recognised.

Diagnostic

Scrip&Go applications use the Windows recognition motor, which is based on the main language of the exploitation system. Windows has to learn to recognise your handwriting.

Solution

• Target specific recognition errors :
  • Specific characters or words : allows character recognition correction of a word or addition of words from a dictionary.
  • Characters with similar forms ; allows correction of similarly formed characters.
• Teach your handwriting to the recognition system : allow handwriting recognition to be improved through the provision of examples.

Windows allows handwriting personalisation in Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 8.1 and Windows 10 through two tools :

To access these tools :

• Windows 7 :
  • Open Windows Explorer and tap in the address bar :
  • %ProgramFiles%\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\ink\ShapeCollector.exe
• Windows 8 et 8.1 :
  • Tap Configuration screen in the Windows search bar ;
  • Tap on Configuration screen in the results ;
  • Tap Language in the Configuration screen search bar ;
  • Click on the Langage section ;
  • Click on Options at the end of the first line in the language list ;
  • Click on personnalise handwriting at the foot of the page ;
• Windows 10 :
  • From the start menu, open Settings ;
  • Click on Peripheral layer
  • Click on Stylus tab and Windows Ink ;
  • Click on Learn to recognise my handwriting.
